Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy game. Unlike its predecessor, Final Fantasy 7, Rebirth takes place in an open-world setting instead of Midgar’s streets. Cloud and friends visit famous locations from the original game, such as the Gold Saucer and Costa del Sol.

To help you catch up with all the changes, we’ve included all the information we know about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth below. It includes its length, release date, and what we know about new playable characters, Summons, and other characters.

Platforms and Release Date for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

The PS5 exclusive Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is limited in time.  In Sony State of Play trailer, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is confined to the PS5 until May 29, 2024. This suggests the possibility of a future release on PC, although optimism is tempered regarding an Xbox launch, considering that Remake is yet to make its debut on the platform.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Duration

According to a developer’s  interview available on the official PlayStation site, in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, volume-wise, the amount of side content is nearly double than that of the main quest content.

Rebirth will take at least 80 to 100 hours to finish if you engage in side activities. But, interestingly, the story of Remake was only approximately 30-40 hours long. And its side material was roughly twice that length. It wouldn’t be surprising if, by the end of your playthrough, you find yourself with even more playtime. It is because Rebirth boasts a more expansive universe compared to Remake.

Trailer

The recent trailer at The Game Awards 2023 not only showcased highlights but also marked the official launch of the new theme song for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This captivating theme will be performed live on stage, serving as an interlude between award announcements.

First trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth lasted just 1 min 30 seconds. It quickly got us excited. As the group pushes out of Midgar and into the wider world, Cloud and Sephiroth prowl several familiar locations in the brief teaser for Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 game. The trailer gave us our first glimpse of the improved visual aesthetic, as Square Enix uses the PS5’s capability for this brand-new role-playing game.

Gameplay Details

The first gameplay teaser had left us much confused, but substantial details have been unveiled in subsequent updates.

The devs’ response to another query regarding leaving Midgar was the only hint. The players freely can journey across the vast and multifaceted world, experiencing many different stories. There has yet to be a real airship, but we have seen Chocobo ride with the buggies and even the Tiny Bronco.

The following trailers for combat gave us brief glimpses, but enough to give us a general idea of what to expect. Combat appears relatively unchanged, and Cait Sith will formally join the group. Expanding the synergized attacks first featured in the Yuffie DLC for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intermission is one of the additions. These let two characters team up to launch a unique, potent assault.

The Golden Saucer has inevitably made its appearance, revealing some known minigames. Chocobo racing has returned, alongside a motorcycle combat game and a boxing game featuring character models that mimic the blocky PS1 graphics.

Conclusion

In the grand tapestry of online game records, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a shining instance of how a classic may be reborn with grace and innovation. The game correctly captures the essence of the original. It leverages modern technology skills to provide a genuinely majestic gaming experience. Whether you are a veteran of the unique Final Fantasy VII or a newcomer eager to discover the world of Midgar, Rebirth guarantees an unforgettable adventure. It fills you with emotion, spectacle, and a renewed appreciation for the undying magic of the Final Fantasy series.
